Hi
everyone, we’re only several days away from Kreyolfest and I simply
can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. Again, we’re expecting a
great show and I’m personally happy that you have chosen to be part of
the festival. The promotion this year, exceeded past ones. We started at
Labor Day with some flyers and we resumed our distribution in January
during Kaliko’s festival and we haven’t abated. We revved up promotion
in
Boston
,
Montreal
and somewhat in
South Florida
. In
Haiti
, we took over with the help of our colleagues who have been pushing the
festival almost nonstop. We have 8 billboards in Brooklyn and
Queens
and the list goes on and on.
But
the most exciting part is that we’ve partnered with 3A Telesud which
gives us a global audience of more than 70 million viewers across Europe,
Africa, Caribbean and of course, Haiti. People in the States who have Dish
Network can see the show live on Telesud. As such, we’re expecting a
great performance from each of you. I know that Myrna has gotten in touch
with you regarding the logistics of the festival so please cooperate
closely with her to assure as smooth as a show as possible. She is 6
months pregnant, but her energy has not slowed down. One thing I would
like to reiterate is that we want the stage clear of nothing but musicians
because we’re filming.
I’m
also asking manager to refrain from giving their friends musician passes
to get on stage. If we find non musicians on stage during performance,
we’d have to have the person remove and I would rather not to reach that
level. So please, again let’s cooperate. The other issue is doing
commercials for non sponsors. I know that some of you are official
spokesmen for companies, please refrain from putting up banners and
wearing their outfits. We’ve had some heated discussions with our
sponsors about that. Just a reminder, here’s the list of our sponsors
and so far none of them have bought stage presence as part of the package.
Haitel,
Western Union
, TNH, C.A.M., Socatransfer. The Haitian Times and Enigma, the festival
organizers, rarely get any shout out from the bands, but other media are
often mentioned. So please show us some love. We work hard for it. I look
forward to seeing you all and a GREAT SHOW. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to contact anyone of the staff.
